Topic – Holy Spirit: the Spirit of Creation

Text: Isaiah 34:16
“Search from the book of the LORD, and read: Not one of these shall fail; Not one shall lack her mate. For My mouth has commanded it, and His Spirit has gathered them.”

Glory be to God who daily makes us triumph in every good work. This morning, it’s such a delight to speak about the beautiful personality of the Holy Spirit. Scriptures says in 2 Cor 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. The Holy Ghost is God in His invincible state. See how the Contemporary English Version puts it: “The Lord and the Spirit are one and the same, and the Lord’s Spirit sets us free. The God of Host is inseparable from His Spirit”.

To talk about the person of the sweet Holy Spirit is to talk about the fullness of God. However today, we will be looking at the creative dimension of God and the role of the Holy Ghost. Understanding the creative abilities of the Holy Ghost makes you, yes you! a co-creator of good things.
A quick overview of the book of the beginning, Gen 1:1-3: In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Watch the sequence; negativity, Spirit brooding then the spoken words. Wow, that’s the secret. The presence of negativity is never the end for a believer. Infact, it is the bedrock for the miraculous.

Darkness itself is a host of light, formlessness is not the reason to resign or quit, it is an invitation to set in order. The devil himself understands this mystery that’s why anywhere you see negativity, he releases the fear components to crumble the faith of a believer. Hear this, men quit not because of the challenge but for lack of faith to fight. If Jesus faced the cross, despite knowing what was ahead, then faith can cross any mountain. You can face it and you will win.

Back to the sequence in Genesis 1:1-3, negativity, Spirit brooding then the spoken words. Many times, you must have been told that words change things. Psalm 148:5b further confirmed this; …for He commanded, and they were created. So why do believer’s pass through difficult terrain, make all positive and scriptural confessions and the situation doesn’t change? Why? This is because, words are indeed the instruments of creation but not empty words.

Every spoken word must be backed, nature including humans do not respect words, but the voice behind the word. So if I say he is calling you, you won’t move until you know who. The response of who called determines your next move, that’s how words operate. So back to creation. Negativity exist, God needed to speak but He wouldn’t until His Spirit broods, that is the power that backs every word He spoke. Today’s text lighten this further; Isaiah said “for My mouth has commanded it, and His Spirit has gathered them”. If your word will command the result you desire, you must be willing to declare it under the consciousness of the Holy ghost. When you pray, ensure you are in sync with the Holy Spirit, that’s how to bring forth in the kingdom.

I declare this morning, the words you release will birth remarkable change. The Holy Ghost will change your story for good.
